Wren stands at 5'6, and has been up until a turn or two ago, quite slender. With puberty came some curves she may not been ready for. While she still is thin, she has soft curves at the hips, belly and breasts. She is not at all concerned with her weight and enjoys any food that is placed before her, a habit that might become a problem in her middle years, but for now, her activity and her metabolism can handle it.
Her hair is wheaten blonde, and her eyebrows are slightly darker. Her eyes are warm, but very dark brown. Her face is long, her forehead is a bit tall, and her mouth wide set-overall perhaps not what makes a classic beauty, but most may agree she's pretty. Her skin is quite pale, she rarely tans, even in the warm region she lives in.
She enjoys an eccentric if not gaudy taste in clothes. She loves bright, difficult-to-attain colors like magenta and teal and royal purple. Her other favorite colors are the colors of her home Big Bay: beet-red and golden yellow. She likes big, showy jewelry, like bronze bangles and large bejeweled brooches. Wren has only ever known dresses, as young ladies such as herself were never permitted to wear anything but female garments.
Personality:
upbeat
loud, bawdy
free-spirited
rebellious
flirty
History: Wren was a surprise, that was for sure, and not just her conception, her entire childhood. Her mother was nearing middle age, and being a few years older than her husband, Milayne was 40 when she birthed the 8 pound baby girl. Wren was the last born child of Hectorus the Fair, the minor Holder at Big Bay. Unlike all of her dark haired siblings, Wren was born a cue ball, meaning to say, she had fine platinum blond hair. There had been whispers for a while that Milayne had been sleeping around with a few of the visiting merchants, and that she had a lover with the Lord of Igen Hold(spreading from the fact her daughter Arya had an ambitious marriage to the Lord's nephew there), but now more than ever the people of Big Bay spread rumors. True or not, the holdspeople whispered awful things about Milayne and her milky daughter. They even failed to realize Milayne's own father was blond. Her birth was not celebrated as her siblings' births were, there were no parties, no festivities, only a small gather held only for the Hector's immediate family.
As she grew older, she proved nothing like her sisters. While they were quiet, demure, and lady-like, she was loud, flighty, and free-spirited. She always spoke what was on her mind, and rebelled against her nannies and tutors. Her mother babied her, trying to shield Wren from the world. Then something terrible happened.
When Wren was only 8 turns old, she was on her daily ride with Milayne, an experienced rider. It was Wren's favorite part of the day, but on their return, her mother was thrown from a runner and never recovered. Suddenly, the only person who ever understood Wren was wrenched away from her. It's funny how death can change a person's reputation. While before malicious rumors flew about the woman's fidelity, after her death every one spoke of what a 'good wife' she was, and about what a 'great lady' she made at the side of Hectorus. Wren never did know of her mother's earlier reputation, sheltered as she was. Her mother's death had a large impact on her, and to this day, the young woman has never ridden a runnerbeast again.
Since her father was always busy tending to the merchants and traders at Big Bay Hold, Wren pretty much had run of the large apartments her family was privy to. Anything she wanted, her father got for her. Soon he feared she was too spoiled and too free-spirited for her own good. He sent Wren to live with her older sister Arya in Igen hold. Arya's husband was a nephew of the Lord there, and they had a generous salary to live on. Despite Arya's best efforts to turn Wren into a lady worth marrying off, Wren remained a bawdy, outgoing and sometimes rude young girl. In fact probably the only thing Wren got from the exchange was her taste in colors, and affection for veils. Other than that, Wren was a hopeless case. What young lord or journeyman would want a young woman who belches at the dinner table?
Having no marriage prospects amused Wren. While she supposed she should be married, since Arya was married by 16 and a mother by 18, she enjoyed being a single girl. She could still dream about riding dragons. She had always heard the stories about them, but had never seen one. If they ever came to search at Big Bay Hold, her father hid all of his children away so they wouldn't be seduced by dragonriders. Perhaps it was this secret fantasy that kept her look on life so optimistic.
