Name: G'nein (Gilonein)
Gender: Male
Age: 42
Orientation: Homosexual
Rank: Wingrider/Searchrider
Family: Libena, cotholder's wife, 58 turns (Mother)
Tasvor, retired cotholder, 65 turns (Father)
Aldachen, cotholder near Telgar, 40 turns (Brother)
Kinela, cotholder's wife, 39 turns (Sister)
Biache, minor holder's wife, 37 turns (Sister)
Danner, Journeyman Smith, 36 turns (Brother)
Esslye, Master Healer's wife, 33 turns (Sister)
Rilissan, Master Farmer, 32 turns (Brother)
Bonna, Master Weaver's wife, 41 turns (Childhood friend)
G'beon (Banen before Impression), brownrider, 25 turns (Son by Bonna)
Pets: None
Appearance: G'nein is long, lean, and still quite fit in his middle turns. His 5'10'' height, trim waistline, and small shoulders complete his slim build. His hair has been almost completely white for turns, and he keeps it trimmed short in a neat, easy, almost militaristic style. His forehead is high, and his ears a touch large, but his features elongate his face and continue his lithe look. His eyes are small, with an almost exagerrated almond shape, and bright blue, which stands out nicely in contrast to his white hair and pale skin tone.
Thanks to his lasting friendship with Bonna and her Master Weaver husband, G'nein can well afford to dress sharply. He's most often seen in well-tailored garments that accentuate his body type without being too gaudy, though he does have a few pairs of trousers that are a bit snug in certain areas. He prefers darker colors paired with blues and grays to bring out his eyes. His riding leathers give him a bit of a bulkier appearance, but he doesn't mind as they serve a purpose.
His appearance is based off of Anderson Cooper: becstaff.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/anderson-cooper-mentos-diet-coke1.jpg
Personality: Flexible, empathetic, and comedic. G'nein finds it easy to get along with most people, as he's an easy-going, optimistic type. He doesn't get hurt or upset when someone doesn't fancy him as an acquaintance or more, he just shrugs it off. Jokes and teasing little insults roll off of him as easy as those who don't like him, but he does prefer to be the deliverer of such jibes rather than the receiver. His ability to shrug things off has frustrated a fair few people hoping to rile him up, and a few lovers have found the trait less than desirable as well, but he enjoys his calm approach to life.
G'nein is quite good at reading others. He always knew when his wingmates were feeling down, hiding something, etc., and he always tried to be there with a wisecrack to cheer them up. His aptitude for sensing emotions, easy sense of humor, and love of making others smile make him an excellent searchrider. His background as a cotholder's son also helps him when he goes to visit the holds. He understands that he can't be the flambouyant, homosexual greenrider swooping into the holds to snatch away holder children, and he fully appreciates how some holder children feel like they're being rescued from the strangling traditions of the holds.
G'nein can be nearly as charming as the stereotypical bronzerider. He's never lacked for partners in his life, and his quick wit has earned him a warm bed on many nights. He is sarcastic on a fairly regular basis, but he rarely means to be hurtful with his words.
History: G'nein was born into a typical Pernese cotholder family. His young mother, only sixteen when she birthed him, was married to his father through a marriage arranged by their parents. It didn't take long for the young couple to do their duty and produce six other children that could work on Tasvor's lands or be married off some day. His father was a strict traditionalist, which meant Gilonein began training as his father's heir almost as soon as he could walk.
The strictness of his father's training chafed against his easy-going nature quite early, and he'd often have his mother help him with excuses to get out of it. He and Bonna, the daughter of one of the women in the cothold, often played together. Gilonein rarely joined the rougher play of his brothers and their friends, preferring to calmly explore and talk with Bonna instead.
At sixteen and fifteen Gilonein and Bonna were to be married, but Gilonein's mother talked his father into letting them wait. Gilonein never felt more than a friendship for Bonna, but he knew what the cothold and his father expected of him, so by his seventeenth turn Bonna bore him a son they named Banen (who would later change his name to G'beon to honor the Weyr tradition of naming). Bonna knew that Gilonein didn't fancy him, or any other girl in the cothold, so she was not upset when he hitched a ride with a caravan of traders and left shortly after Banen's birth.
Gilonein eventually made it to Ista Weyr, and sent word to Bonna that she and Banen could join him, but Bonna had already met the man she would later marry. Gilonein enjoyed the freedom of the Weyr, finally realizing his true self with the more sexually free riders and workers, and Impressed when he stood on the sands at age eighteen. Gilonein was ecstatic to impress Esameth. A little green was perfect for him.
The pair made it through weyrling training with some chiding from the hold bred lads who Impressed, but he found champions in the Weyrbred boys. Esameth's first mating flight came early, and the older blue who caught her gave her and G'nein a good welcoming into Weyr life. G'nein has had several weyrmates over the turns, few lasting long or catching Esameth more than once, but he wouldn't mind "settling down." He finds the younger C'nal adorable, though he would never call the man that aloud, but fancies him as a flight winner and little more.
G'nein has not seen his father since leaving the family's cothold, but he has kept in touch with his mother. He managed to get the woman astride Esameth, despite her terror of heights, which made visiting much easier for them. G'nein also helps his youngest brother, Rilissan, with his traveling when asked and he has, of course, stayed in touch with Bonna. He was present at Bonna's wedding, and managed to get half of his wing to grace the day for his childhood friend. He and G'beon are friends, and the two served in the same wing for a time at Ista.
G'nein was awarded a spot amongst those who were to transfer to Igen due to his stable nature, and because he spoke with his Wingleader. He explained that he wanted a change of pace and scenery, and his Wingleader seemed to understand.

Dragon Info:
Name: Esameth
Age: 24 turns
Color: Green
Appearance: Esameth provides the perfect mirror for her rider in terms of build. Long and sinuous with leanly toned muscle, this average sized green is the picturesque definition of agile. Her wings are slightly shorter than average, but their size seems to give her greater control and precision of movement. Her hide is a rich, deep green, without streaks or patches, that shines a bit lighter in the rays of Rukbat.
Personality: Finicky, precise, and well aware of her skills. Like all dragons, Esameth is a stunning creature, and she is well aware of her beauty. She chides G'nein to oil and bathe her more often than truly needed, she preens when her dark hide glistens in the sun, and she takes great pleasure in showing off her agility. Esameth seems to know the right way to do everything at this point in her life, and she completes all of her tasks with an exacting eye for detail. She knows just what angles of descent to utilize to make the sun sparkle off her hide, just how to fold her wings to make them fold smartly, etc.
History: Esameth hatched first from her egg 24 turns ago, which G'nein always says is, "So Esa." A green hatching first may not have been good luck for the Weyr, but it was certainly good luck for Esameth and the newly dubbed G'nein. Esa remembers growing and being bathed all the time during weyrling training, and then she remembers her first flight. A blue dragon caught her, and G'nein was quite happy. After that, she mostly remembers mating flights, G'beon and his brown, and now transferring to this new Weyr.
